Rong Pencil – a Hand woven Mulcotton saree , dyed in the colour of Peach, a summer pastel shade. Handblock printed with wooden blocks by the artisan in meenakari floral prints using 3 separate blocks- one for outlining , two for the colours. The Pallu has unique Texturing work done by hand using multiple colours. They look like colour pencils we have used during our drawing classes hence the name ‘Rong Pencil’. This entire process of texturing is laborious and needs high skill and talent. The wooden blocks have been carved intricately by hand. At Wearableart by Dola, we work with artisans who are custodians of age old dyeing and printing techniques. Our effort is to bring to you the story of our rich crafts legacy.
