‘Sambhar’ – আমার নতুন জামা! “Ashwiner Sharodo prate bejey uthechhe aalok monjeer… ”

When Monsoon comes, can Autumn be far behind! The white clouds to sail across the blue skies soon, the ‘Kashphul’ and Shiuli, will soon announce, Autumn is not far behind. And with this it will announce too that, our greatest festival ‘Durgo Pujo’ is soon to come!

A month or so before the Pujas, Maa and Jyethima would take us to the markets for shopping! ‘Notun jama’ (new clothes) was a catch phrase for us to brighten up our spirits! In those days, puja shoping was like an annual festival  for us- the  fun, the food and the energy and above all  নতুন জামা !  Maa preferred to stick to her Tangails for shopping, some times a Jamdani but her favourite has been always the batik silk! And for this Durga Puja 2024 and Festive collection, my Tribute through Dola Mukherjee Wearable Art would be the sarees and designs of yester years! This collection i lovingly call ‘Sambhar’  সম্ভার and i place this ‘Sambhar’ in front of you dear friends, with my humble request, that your participation and support and love that will make ‘Sambhar’ a grand success!
