Annapakshi – Rooted in the heritage city of Kanchipuram, Kanchi Cotton sarees are fashion favourite of women! As the legend goes, Weavers of these sarees were descendants of Sage Markanda. Whatever it is, the expert weavers passed down the skill from one generation to the next, preserving the knowledge. Cotton brings in the element of comfort and grace, elegance and simplicity. These sarees have a heavy influence on the temple design inspired by the temples of Kanchipuram. The motifs – traditional ones – Annapakshi or the bird of abundance, Pavunpet – a beautiful design oy and the gorf a gold coin represented by ‘V’ on four sides- Ganga Yamuna or Diamond borders with temples, Dhoop chaon or jewel tones. ‘Annapakshi’ is unique in its deep Aubergine colour, zari woven Annapakshi motifs on the body and gorgeous zari woven palla.
