‘Subhra’ – is an Ode to the fine technique of needle Jamdani. It is a supplementary weft technique of weaving, where the artistic motifs are produced by a non-structural weft, in addition to the standard weft that holds the warp threads together. Woven by hand in a cluster in Bengal by a skilled woman weaver. The colour off white and the traditional Jamdani motifs and ‘jhalor’ on both the borders and on the palla that have been woven in this saree makes it a fine piece of wearable art!
