Madhumalati – A handwoven Mangalgiri Cotton saree, with woven Ganga Yamuna borders and Stripes in contrasting colours in pallu. Base colour is Purple . Embroidery by hand has been done on it by the rural women of Bengal using Herringbone Stitches and short Running Stitches with floral motifs, Colours used for embroidery- Orange, Yellow and Green ,contrasting against the Purple back ground. The saree has been further embellished by mirror work on the body and pallu.
