Krishnakali – a handloom Bengal cotton saree with woven border and a contrasting palla with tassels have been chosen to embroider by hand , beautiful and dainty flowers in pink and white using French Knot stitches. The leaves ave been hdone with Satin stitches and the vines with Stem stitch. The embroidery runs through the length of the saree along the border and culminates into a gorgeous , intricately embroidered pallu. The boxes on the Pallu are ornately embroidered and flowers are thrown here and there on the body of the saree, daintily embroidered by hand. While the saree has been woven in a loom in Bengal, the entire embroidery has been done on the saree by rural women from 24 Parganas district of Bengal.
