‘Jarul’ blooms in Spring! Its rich mauve colour that has being an inspiration for this saree. Maheshwari, as the legend goes, is the royal weave , the idea of weaving it was conceived by Rani Ahalya Bai Holkar . A small temple town at the banks of the river Narmada, Maheshwar is steeped in history, culture and heritage. ‘ Jarul’ is a handwoven cotton silk saree from Maheshwar. The pastel shade of the saree with its rich and intricate zari border with woven ‘ Chameli’ , the zari woven ‘Chameli’ floral motifs on the body of the saree , contrasts with the deep blue of the pallu . All that imparts to the saree a Regal touch!
